Improve Guitar String Bending!
To improve your guitar string bending technique, it's essential to use supporting fingers behind the one doing the bend. For example, if you're bending with your ring finger, place your middle and index fingers behind it on the same string to help push—this adds strength and control, making bends smoother and more accurate. Keep your thumb over the top of the neck to anchor your hand and use wrist rotation, not just finger strength, to execute the bend—imagine turning a doorknob for the correct motion. Practicing slowly and matching the bent note to the target pitch (using your ear or a tuner) will help develop precision. Once the pitch is reached, add vibrato using the same supporting fingers for expressive playing. If you're just starting out or struggling with tension, consider using lighter gauge strings to build proper technique without excessive strain.
